MoonDog EA / Source Code for MetaTrader 5
MoonDog EA with ONNX is designed for traders who want to capture Gold breakout opportunities with a structured, multi strategy trading system without relying on martingale or recovery techniques. Combining five independent breakout strategies, predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit levels, and intelligent trade management, MoonDog offers an automated approach to trading XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. Instead of increasing exposure to recover losses, it focuses on identifying potential breakouts, managing each position independently, and protecting trades through configurable risk controls.
Developed exclusively for Gold trading, MoonDog uses five independent strategy modules to identify different breakout and price expansion conditions. By evaluating multiple trading opportunities through separate strategy modules, the EA aims to capture potential price movements in the XAUUSD market using structured entry rules and predefined trade management.
The system uses automated pending order execution to participate in potential breakouts. When the required market conditions are detected, MoonDog can place Buy Stop or Sell Stop orders according to its internal strategy logic. Each strategy operates independently, allowing the EA to evaluate different breakout conditions rather than relying on a single entry approach.
MoonDog is designed with a clear focus on controlled trade management. It does not use martingale, recovery mode, grid recovery, lot multiplication after losses, or loss averaging. Every trade is opened with its own predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit. Losing positions are not followed by larger recovery trades, helping maintain a more structured approach to position sizing and risk control.
The EA includes several protective trade management functions. Automatic break even management can adjust protection after a position reaches the configured conditions. Trailing Stop functionality helps manage open trades as the market moves. MoonLock provides progressive profit protection, while fake breakout protection is designed to help filter unsuitable breakout conditions. These functions manage existing positions and do not increase lot sizes or create additional recovery positions.
MoonDog supports both fixed lot and percentage based risk management. Traders can select settings according to their account balance, trading objectives, and personal risk tolerance. However, because its five strategies operate independently, multiple positions may be active simultaneously. Total account exposure can therefore exceed the risk assigned to an individual trade. Conservative settings are recommended when evaluating the EA for the first time.
Additional features include an optional economic news filter, configurable trading schedules, automatic pending order management, and an integrated trading dashboard. These tools provide greater control over trading activity and help users monitor the EA during operation. No external signal service is required for trade execution.
MoonDog can be tested using the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester. Real tick data and realistic trading costs are recommended whenever available to evaluate the strategy under more representative market conditions. Historical results should be assessed alongside drawdown, trade frequency, execution costs, and performance across different market environments.
Broker conditions are particularly important for Gold breakout trading. Spreads, commissions, slippage, latency, liquidity, and broker specific XAUUSD specifications can influence live performance. Low spread accounts with reliable execution are recommended, and users should test the EA with their intended broker before committing real capital.
Recommended set files and a user guide are available to help users configure the system. After purchasing MoonDog, users are encouraged to contact the developer for assistance with installation, configuration, broker conditions, and appropriate lot sizing.
MoonDog is built for traders seeking an automated Gold breakout system that combines multiple strategies with disciplined position management. Trading XAUUSD involves significant financial risk, and neither the absence of recovery techniques nor historical performance guarantees future profitability. Users remain responsible for selecting suitable settings and managing their overall account exposure.
The download includes the EA, a setfile with recommended settings and a user manual covering installation, broker settings and every input.

Before you run MoonDog
- False breakouts. Price often breaks a level and returns. Check whether the EA uses a confirmation filter, a time filter or a spread limit to reduce these.
- Spread and slippage. Entries happen as price moves quickly, which is when spreads widen and fills slip. Test the EA on a demo account through busy sessions.
- Stop placement. Breakout stops are often wide. Size the lot to the stop distance, not to the default input; the lot size calculators below do this.
Trading carries a high level of risk. An Expert Advisor does not guarantee profit, and backtests or past results do not predict future performance.
