Smart Golden Portfolio is an XAUUSD Expert Advisor developed for traders looking for a consistent, long-term strategy to include in their trading portfolio. Built on extensive strategy research and forward testing, it focuses on maintaining its original trading logic while adapting trade management to changing Gold market conditions.

The strategy was developed before 2025 through a large research process involving thousands of generated and tested strategies. Only a small number were selected for extended forward testing. Over time, the other strategies were eliminated, leaving Smart Golden Portfolio as the only strategy from the original group that remained suitable for continued use.

Its core trading logic has remained unchanged since development. Market analysis, entry decisions, and BUY or SELL selection have not been repeatedly redesigned to fit recent Gold price movements. Instead of continuously optimizing historical results, the strategy maintains its original approach.

The original trade management used approximately 2000 points for Stop Loss and 4000 points for Take Profit. As Gold prices and volatility increased, adjustments were made to the management layer rather than the entry strategy. The Stop Loss was widened slightly, trailing management was introduced, and trailing begins after approximately 5000 points of favorable movement. Take Profit is positioned farther away to allow stronger Gold movements more room to develop.

Smart Golden Portfolio aims to provide backtest results that closely resemble its real trading behavior. It does not depend on precise breakout timing, rapid pending-order execution, or ultra-short scalping. Consequently, differences in spread, slippage, and execution conditions are generally less critical than for highly execution-sensitive strategies.

The EA is designed for straightforward installation on XAUUSD, including broker symbols with prefixes or suffixes. It supports standard, Raw, ECN, and cent accounts across different Gold quote formats. The default strategy timeframe is M30, controlled through the EA's input settings. No external set file is required for standard use. A minimum starting balance of 300 USD is advised, with users selecting an appropriate lot size or risk percentage.

Advanced users can experiment with strategy timeframes, Stop Loss and Take Profit distances, trailing settings, position limits, and money management. BUY-only, SELL-only, and combined trading modes are available, alongside an optional second position. These configurations allow traders to explore different balances between profitability and drawdown, although historical results do not guarantee future performance.

Unlike many Gold trading systems, Smart Golden Portfolio does not use grid trading, martingale, averaging, or recovery baskets. Positions have defined risk management, and internal exit logic can close trades before Stop Loss or Take Profit when market conditions change.

Risk controls include Fixed Lot, Lot per $1,000 Balance, Risk Percentage per Trade, Daily Loss Protection, Daily Drawdown Protection, Account Equity Protection, optional Close-All Protection, a High-Impact USD News Filter, directional trading permissions, and Friday trading controls.

Smart Golden Portfolio is intended as a potential long-term portfolio component rather than a high-risk system promising rapid account growth. It may also suit eligible funded accounts, subject to each firm's rules.
