EA Verdict #8
ThunderGold Scalper EA Review (2026): A $199 Gold EA, a Rating That Fell to 3.69 and a Live Signal That Vanished
By Benjamin Lee · Updated · 22 min read
ThunderGold Scalper is a gold Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that costs $199, trades the 15-minute chart without a grid, and puts a stop loss and a take profit on every trade. Its listing has 3,777 free demo downloads, an input list, honest warnings about broker sensitivity, and a 3.69 rating from 29 reviews. It also has something unusual: the live signal its description links to no longer exists, and the reviews flip from praise in August to complaints in October. We read the listing, 20 of the 29 reviews and every developer reply, tried the signal link, and scored ThunderGold Scalper on the same eight criteria as every verdict here. The result is 39.0 out of 100: a sensible design and an open input list, with no record behind it and a reputation that has moved the wrong way.

Key takeaways
- ThunderGold Scalper scores 39.0 out of 100 (band: Avoid for now) with a Medium risk label. The design is sensible and bounded; the score is held down by the absence of any verified record and by a trust problem the reviews describe.
- The listing says 'Live Signal - TMGM' and links MQL5 signal 2384469. On 21 October 2026 MQL5 answered that the signal was not found and had probably been deleted. A buyer on 11 October had already written that 'there are no live signals anymore'.
- Of the 20 reviews we could read, 8 are positive, 1 mixed, 10 negative and 1 a setup question. All four August reviews are positive; all five October reviews are negative. The rating of 3.69 sits between those two groups.
- The developer's replies are mostly thank-yous, and the specific disputes (a pricing complaint, a claim that history was rewritten, a version that reviewers say broke order handling) have no public resolution. We report each as a claim and quote the reply.
- We sell a listing for ThunderGold Scalper, and it is version 1.3 against 2.40 on the Market. Treat our listing and the Market product as different purchases.

The verdict at a glance: an open input list on top of a missing record
ThunderGold Scalper earns points for how it is built and described. It has a stop and a target on every trade, no grid, a stated risk cap, a short list of tested brokers and a plain warning that broker conditions change results. It loses points on the things that let a buyer check any of that: the signal it points to is gone, there is no manual or backtest to open, and the reviewers' mood has turned. The scorecard and radar show how the total was built.

What ThunderGold Scalper actually is
ThunderGold Scalper is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, sold on the MQL5 Market by Jorge Luiz Guimaraes De Araujo Dias of Brazil, whose seller profile shows a 4.1 rating from 221 votes, 5 products and 3 signals. It trades gold (XAUUSD or GOLD) on the M15 chart using what the listing calls a proprietary multi-factor decision engine that combines market structure, trend direction, candle quality, volume and momentum. It was published on 31 July 2026 and showed version 2.40, updated on 17 October 2026.
The listing is unusually direct about what the EA is not. It says there is no grid. It says the stop loss is relatively short, that several consecutive stops 'may occur during unfavorable market conditions' and that this is 'a normal characteristic of the strategy'. It tells users not to raise the lot size after a loss, to start at 0.01 lot and to keep risk between 0.5% and 1% (2% at most). Those are healthy statements, and a buyer who follows them is better protected than one who does not.

How we judged it, and who has something to sell
Evidence on EAs is never neutral. Here is every party near this product and what each stands to gain, ours included.
- The developer sells the EA and runs the Market page, the replies and, until it vanished, the live account. His record was his sales page.
- MQL5 and MetaQuotes host the Market, the reviews and the signals. A signal's disappearance is the platform's statement, not ours.
- Buyers who wrote reviews include very satisfied users and several who report losses. Testimony, not data, and each is unverifiable from outside. One positive reviewer says he will not answer questions and will block anyone who asks, which is a reminder that reviews are not a conversation.
- ForexCopilotEA sells a listing for this EA. We gain if you buy it, which is why this verdict opens with that fact and applies the same rules as every other.
Evidence ladder: what each rung of proof held for ThunderGold Scalper
Grade A: Independent proof
- Nothing for this product. The signal the listing links to returned 'signal not found' on 21 October 2026.
- MetaQuotes and Myfxbook documentation, used for how testing reports and verified records work.
Grade B: Checkable vendor material
- The Market listing: version, price, inputs, requirements, dated reviews and developer replies.
- The free demo, which runs in the Strategy Tester only, and the list of tested brokers.
Grade C: Claim only
- A reviewer's count of 34 trades (26 wins, 8 losses) with a gross profit factor near 3.9 in the author's live history, and a reviewer's '30% in one month with a 9% fluctuating drawdown'.
- Reviewer reports of losses: '$1,000 in a week', 'losses kept stacking up', 'nearly lost the account'.
Grade D: Conflicted or anonymous
- Pages that offer the EA for free or by licence key, and one-word reviews such as 'GOODBOT'. Nothing on them is used as proof.
The live signal that is not there
The listing's description carries a heading, 'Live Signal - TMGM', that links to MQL5 signal 2384469. We opened it on 21 October 2026 and MQL5 answered, in its own words, 'Unfortunately, the signal is not found in our database. The signal you requested has probably been deleted.' We cannot tell why. A provider can delete a signal by choice, a broker change can force a new one, or an account can be closed. What we can say is what the buyer sees: a listing whose single piece of independent evidence leads nowhere.
Buyers noticed. On 11 October a reviewer wrote that there are no live signals any more and that the accounts the developer showed differ from what the EA actually trades. On 6 October another accused the developer of updating the EA after losses to erase them, and of removing him from the Telegram group. The developer replied the next day that nothing is erased: the original engine remains available as V1, V2 was added alongside it, and signal history is recorded by MQL5. Without the signal page, none of those claims can be checked, in either direction.
Reviews over time: from praise to complaints in eight weeks
The product page shows 29 reviews and a 3.69 rating. We could read 20, and they carry dates, which makes a trend visible. The earliest reviews, from 20 to 30 August, are all positive. Early September is mixed. By 9 to 15 September the negatives outnumber the positives. In October every review we could read is negative.
- 20 to 31 August: positive4 positive, 0 negative
- 1 to 8 September: positive3 positive, 1 negative
- 9 to 15 September: negative4 negative, 1 positive, 2 mixed or help
- 4 to 15 October: negative5 negative, 0 positive
A pattern like this has several innocent readings. Early buyers ran the EA in a favourable stretch of gold and later buyers did not. Early reviewers are enthusiasts and later reviewers include people who did not match the recommended broker. A product that changed version, as ThunderGold did to 2.40, can behave differently from the one early buyers praised. And negative reviewers are more likely to write once things go wrong. None of those is a flaw we can prove. All of them are reasons a 3.69 average hides the direction of travel.
The positive side
- A buyer on 4 September has used it for a month and says the results are excellent, stresses that you must follow the author's broker and account recommendations and calls the author helpful and fast to reply.
- A buyer on 2 September contrasts it with grid systems (he names Quantum Queen and others): real take profit and stop loss on every trade, risk visible from the start. That is a fair description of the design.
- A buyer on 25 August reports 30% in a month with a 9% fluctuating drawdown; another on 30 August counted 34 trades (26 wins, 8 losses) in the author's live history and a gross profit factor near 3.9, while raising concerns about the developer's other products. Both are unverifiable now that the signal is gone.
- Two positive buyers note that profits tend to be small and frequent because the trailing stop closes trades quickly, which is consistent with the stated design.
The negative side
- A buyer on 15 October says he bought three of the developer's EAs, that two have since left the market and all three ended in losses. We could not verify the other two products.
- A buyer on 14 September says the backtest is fake and he lost $1,000 in a week; the developer replies that he never made contact and that the product needs a recommended broker and proper settings.
- A buyer on 13 September says a $399 charge appeared on top of the $299 listing and that he lost money at 0.01 lot; the developer replies that there is a single price with no extra charge and that the review has been reported to MQL5.
- A buyer on 11 September says version 2.40 broke order placement, profit and loss calculation and magic-number assignment, and that his messages went unanswered; the developer replied with a thank-you and no technical response.
- A buyer on 10 September says losses increased over a few weeks; the developer replies that drawdown is normal, that breakout systems struggled that month and that settings matter. Another on 3 September says losses kept stacking up; the developer acknowledges two recent stops and says several consecutive stops are part of the strategy.
The developer's replies are consistent with the listing's own warnings, and that matters: the product said in advance that losing streaks happen. What the replies do not do is show a drawdown number or a record. 'Normal' is a claim; a signal would have made it a figure.
Broker sensitivity: the warning that matters most
A 15-minute gold scalper with a short stop lives on small distances, so spread, commission and slippage are a large share of every trade. The listing says so in its own words: the EA 'is sensitive to spread, slippage, liquidity and execution speed', recommends a Raw Spread or Raw ECN account 'strongly', and tested it on only TMGM, Vantage and VT Markets, with a separate Exness mode. A review confirms it from the other side: a buyer using a broker not on the list reports live losses and suggests a wider, volatility-based stop.
What this means in practice: a backtest on 'every tick based on real ticks' with your own broker's data is the only fair test. The listing gives the same advice itself. If your broker is not on the tested list, the right reading of the reviews is that results will differ, perhaps by a lot, and that the difference will show up in the first weeks on demo, not in the sales page. Our strategy tester settings guide and our real-ticks guide cover the setup.
The real price of ThunderGold Scalper
$199 is modest. Next to a $600 to $2,800 gold EA it looks like a bargain, and the demo is free. But price is half of cost. The licence buys no verified record, the EA needs an ECN or Raw account and a VPS, and the pricing dispute above shows how a $199 listing can be experienced as $299 or more. The developer says there is one price; the reviewer disagrees; we cannot settle it. The prudent reading is to check the checkout total before you pay and to keep the receipt.
| Cost | Typical figure | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Licence | $199 listed | One-off. Ours is a separate sale at its own price. |
| VPS | $10 to $30 a month | Recommended close to the broker's server; see our VPS setup guide. |
| Broker conditions | Raw spread plus commission | A Raw or ECN gold account; commission matters more to a short-stop system. |
| Account | $100 minimum, more advised | At 0.5% to 1% risk, 0.01 lot needs a larger balance than the minimum implies. |
| Your time | 12 weeks of demo | The test plan below. The free demo runs in the tester only, so a forward demo needs a purchase or our listing. |
Can your account actually run it?
The setup is plain: MetaTrader 5, XAUUSD on M15, a Raw or ECN account, a VPS and the right Broker Type setting. The low $100 minimum is real in the sense that the EA will run on it, and it is misleading in the sense that a short stop, a 1% risk cap and a normal losing streak of five or six trades leave very little room on a small balance. A buyer with $100 and 0.01 lot is risking a larger share per trade than the vendor's 0.5% to 1% suggests. See how much money to run an EA and our lot sizing guide.
On prop firms: the listing makes no prop-firm claim, and a gold scalper that trades inside high-impact news windows and depends on tight spreads needs checking against a firm's rules on news, holding time and slippage. Our FTMO guide covers what to test first.
Will it last?
Sustainability asks whether the product and its maker will still be there in a year. The facts are thin. The EA is twelve weeks old, its logic is closed, and its version has moved to 2.40 with a reviewer reporting that the move broke order handling. The seller has an established profile (4.1 from 221 votes), but a reviewer says two of his earlier EAs have left the market, and the live signal the product pointed to is gone. None of those proves the product will fail. Together they say the buyer should not assume continuity.
What we could not see
Criterion by criterion: how the 39.0 was built
Each score below is out of 10, multiplied by the criterion's weight, and sits inside the tier described by the written scoring anchors. The reasoning is short on purpose; the sections above carry the evidence.
| Criterion | Score | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verified evidence (weight 20) | 3.5 / 10 | 7.0 | No verified record for this product: the linked signal was not found, so only checkable vendor material and testimony remain. Capped by the method at 4. |
| Risk and drawdown behaviour (weight 20) | 5 / 10 | 10.0 | A stop and a target on every trade, no grid and a stated 2% ceiling are real strengths. A short stop, reported losing streaks and no verified drawdown keep it at the middle of the tier. Label Medium. |
| Profitability quality (weight 15) | 3 / 10 | 4.5 | A plausible edge claimed by a few reviewers and denied by others; no verified profit factor or expectancy, and half of the readable reviews report losses. |
| Sustainability (weight 15) | 3 / 10 | 4.5 | Closed logic, twelve weeks old, a version change that reviewers say broke order handling, and a seller whose earlier products a reviewer says left the market. |
| Transparency and trust (weight 10) | 3 / 10 | 3.0 | The linked signal is gone, a pricing dispute and a history-rewriting allegation are unresolved, and replies to critics are mostly generic. A public input list is the offsetting point. |
| Practical fit (weight 10) | 5 / 10 | 5.0 | Needs a Raw or ECN account, a VPS, a broker setting and a 15-minute gold chart; only three brokers tested; a $100 minimum is low but easy to outgrow. |
| Cost and value (weight 5) | 5 / 10 | 2.5 | $199 and a free demo are modest, but nothing verified backs the price. |
| Support and usability (weight 5) | 5 / 10 | 2.5 | A free demo, a clear input list and replies to most reviews, offset by buyers who say messages went unanswered and no manual link. |
Who it might suit, and who should walk away
- It might suit a trader who wants a low-cost way to study a short-stop gold scalper on demo, who already has a Raw or ECN account at one of the three tested brokers, and who will treat the first months as a test, not an income.
- It might suit someone who values a design with a stop and a target on every trade and no grid, and who understands that several stops in a row are the price of that design.
- Walk away if you are buying because of the August reviews. The October ones are the more recent evidence, and the signal behind the praise is gone.
- Walk away if your broker is not Raw or ECN or your spread on gold is wide. The vendor warns about it in the first paragraph of the requirements.
- Walk away if you cannot afford to lose the account or cannot run a VPS.
If you want to test it: a 12-week plan
Step 1: Weeks 1 to 2: read what is left
Read every review by date and the developer's replies. Note which complaints are about the product (stops, order handling) and which about the vendor (price, messages).
Step 2: Weeks 2 to 4: run the demo in the tester
Use every tick based on real ticks on your broker's gold specification, with the vendor's stated defaults and the Broker Type that matches. Record the profit factor, the average win and loss and the longest losing streak.
Step 3: Weeks 4 to 10: forward-test on a demo
Same version, same broker, 0.01 lot. Record every trade and the spread at entry. Compare your results with the backtest and with the reviewers' reports.
Step 4: Weeks 10 to 12: decide with numbers
Continue only if the forward results are close to the tester's, the longest losing streak is one you can live with and the spread cost is a small share of the average win.
Step 5: Start small, and only if it passed
Fund an amount you can lose completely and treat the first live month as part of the test.
Ten questions to put to the developer before you pay
A developer with a real edge can answer these in a paragraph. Vague or missing answers are information too, and they are the fastest way to close the gaps this verdict could not.
- Why was the live signal 2384469 removed, and is there a current, public record for version 2.40?
- What changed between the version early buyers praised and 2.40, and does the original engine remain available as V1?
- What are the average win, average loss and longest losing streak on a verified account, and at what lot size?
- What drawdown should a buyer expect at 0.5%, 1% and 2% risk, and what was the worst you have seen?
- How does the EA behave on a broker that is not TMGM, Vantage or VT Markets, and what should a buyer change?
- Can you resolve the order-placement and magic-number problems reported on 11 September, and in which version?
- What is the exact price a buyer pays at checkout, and are there any extra charges?
- Is there a manual I can read before purchase?
- Which of your other EAs have left the Market, and why?
- What is the refund policy, and what happens if results on my broker differ from yours?
What would move this score
- A new, public, verified record for the current version, of at least 12 months and on one account, with the monthly table visible. This alone could lift evidence into the 7 to 8.5 tier and open up profitability.
- A published drawdown and payoff at each risk setting. This lifts risk and profitability together.
- Public, specific answers to the disputes in the reviews, including the version issue. This lifts trust.
- A manual and broker guide published before purchase. This lifts trust and support.
- Downward risks: a new version that breaks the history again, more reviews in the pattern of October's, or further products leaving the Market.
The developer, or any reader with the evidence open, can send corrections through the contact page. We will recalculate and log the change with the date at the top of this page.
How it compares with the other verdicts
Next to Quantum Commander, which also puts a stop on every trade but has a signal you can open, ThunderGold costs a quarter of the price and has nothing to open. Next to Wave Rider at 43.0 and Quantum Queen X at 36.5, both gold grids, it is the more conservative design, and its 39.0 reflects the missing record rather than a riskier structure. For how these system types differ, see our strategy comparison and our gold category.

Frequently asked questions
Is ThunderGold Scalper legit?
It is a real product with a documented design, a public input list and a seller with an established Market profile. We do not allege wrongdoing. The proof is missing: the live signal its listing links to was not found on 21 October 2026, the reviews have turned negative since August, and the rating is 3.69 from 29 reviews, which is why it scores 39.0 out of 100 with a Medium risk label.
Does ThunderGold Scalper use a grid or martingale?
No. The listing says there is no grid, that every trade has an automatic stop loss and take profit with a dynamic trailing stop, and that users should not raise the lot size after a loss. Reviewers describe pending orders and short stops, and several describe losing streaks, which the listing itself says to expect.
What drawdown does ThunderGold Scalper have?
There is no verified drawdown: the live signal is gone. One reviewer reports about 9% fluctuating drawdown with a 30% monthly return; others report losses of $1,000 in a week or 'nearly lost' accounts. All are unverified. The vendor recommends 0.5% to 1% risk per trade and 2% at most.
How much does ThunderGold Scalper cost?
The MQL5 Market price on 21 October 2026 was $199, and a reviewer disputed an earlier $299 listing with a $399 extra charge, which the developer denies. A Raw or ECN account and a VPS are extra. A free demo is available and runs in the Strategy Tester. Sellers differ in price, version and terms, so read the terms of whichever seller you use.
What is the minimum deposit for ThunderGold Scalper?
The listing states $100 and 0.01 lot to start, with a risk of 0.5% to 1% per trade and 2% at most. Treat $100 as a technical floor: a short-stop scalper has normal losing streaks, and at 0.01 lot a $100 account risks a larger percentage per trade than the vendor's guidance suggests.
Why did the live signal disappear?
We do not know. MQL5 shows the signal 2384469 as not found and probably deleted. A provider can delete a signal by choice or be forced to start a new one, and a buyer on 11 October says there are no live signals any more. Ask the developer which public record applies to the current version.
How was the score calculated?
Eight weighted criteria (evidence 20, risk 20, profitability 15, sustainability 15, trust 10, fit 10, cost 5, support 5), each scored out of ten against written anchors. Sources are graded A to D and unverified claims cannot count as proof. We sell a listing for this EA, which is disclosed at the top, and the same method scored Quantum Commander at 41.0 and Wave Rider at 43.0. The total here is 39.0 out of 100.
